With spring in the air, it felt like the right time to open up about something personal—my ADHD diagnosis. We talked about this in our recent EX Space webinar with the brilliant Dan Hudson (you can watch it back anytime in our webinar collection), and I’ve been reflecting on how ADHD has shaped not just my personal life, but my working life too.
Like many people with ADHD, I’ve often taken the scenic route through life. But looking back, it’s clear that some of my most joyful and defining experiences have stemmed from the spontaneity, intuition, and energy that come with my neurodivergent brain:

  • I quit a stable job to pursue music. That decision led to a record deal, releasing tracks, and performing at Reading Festival—more than once.
  • I started a family with someone I barely knew, who had just moved 200 miles away. Fast forward to today, and we have three amazing kids.
  • A spontaneous move to Brighton led me to discover a whole new world—my first role in comms and engagement.

Of course, ADHD has its challenges too. I’m no stranger to anxiety, overthinking, and last-minute panics because I’ve misplaced my phone (again). But one thing that’s genuinely changed the game for me lately is AI.

What started as curiosity with ChatGPT has evolved into something more meaningful. Tools like Microsoft Co-pilot have transformed my daily working life—from managing my inbox to helping me stay on top of the to-do list that used to exist only in my head. It’s not about fixing ADHD, but about finding ways to work with it, not against it.
At The EX Space, we’re passionate about exploring how emerging tools like AI can help us all show up better at work. We’re constantly curating resources, running masterclasses, and opening up conversations that go beyond the surface.

Next month I've been asked to be part of a webinar which dives into how AI can transform internal comms. “Internal Comms Reimagined: AI-powered, People-first, Consumer-grade”. I'll be joining Tarek Kamil, CEO of Cerkl, to look at how we can use AI to create more human experiences at work. If you’re curious, grab your free spot here.
